IAHA Region 8 Championship Ride Qualifications

& General Rules

(Refer to IAHA handbook for complete rules)

 Horse – Endurance

1.      Must be qualified by having successfully completed 100 miles of competition, of which up to 50 miles may be earned in an IAHA Regional or National Championship Competitive Trail Ride.  All Endurance completion miles must be from an accredited Endurance Ride of a minimum of 50 miles distance.

Horse – Competitive Trail

2.      Must have completed 100 miles at a IAHA Recognized competitive trail or endurance ride (of which 25 miles must be an IAHA Recognized Competitive Trail Ride.

Horse – Endurance or Competitive Trail

3.      Must be registered Arabian, Half-Arabian or Anglo-Arabian.

4.      Must be 60 months of age.

5.      Must be ridden and owned by a current member of IAHA. (Owner and rider need not be same)

6.      Current negative Coggins test is required.

7.      Copies of registration papers and IAHA membership cards for rider and owner MUST be presented

 

Provision for Protest: 2001 IAHA Handbook Article 1611. Endurance

·        Protest must be in writing, signed by the protester, and submitted to the ride secretary, ride manager, ride steward, or chair of the Endurance Ride Committee: a $25.00 fee must accompany the protest within 7 days of end of ride.  This fee will be refunded if protest is upheld.

Provision for Protest: 2001 Handbook Article 1514. Competitive Trail

·        Protest must be filed in writing within 8 days of end of ride. Signed by protester and submitted to IAHA with a copy to the Ride Steward and Ride Management Committee for immediate referral to the IAHA Competitive Trail Ride Sub-Committee for resolution.  A $100.00 fee will accompany the protest, which will be refunded if protest is upheld.

IAHA entry fee includes open ride for endurance or competitive trail.

50% discount for early entry if postmarked by April 25, 2001.

Sweepstakes

IAHA Breeders Sweepstakes money will be paid to Sweepstakes horses as follows.  Arabian, Half-Arabian and Anglo-Arabian will be judged together for sweepstakes awards.  Gelding incentive is 25%.

Champion -------------$1000.00

Reserve Champion ----$500.00

Remaining Top 5 ------$250.00
