Generally speaking,  from the north, Kanopolis Lake is just off Highway K-141, the area is 33 miles southwest of Salina via. Highway K-140. From the south, the area is about 22 miles west of Lindsborg via Highway 4 to Highway K-141.

The camp entrance road is just north of the Kanopolis Lake dam on Highway K-141. There is a sign reading "Venango Park" at the corner, along with a public phone & a mini-mart. Turn WEST at this corner. Go about 1/2 mile then go RIGHT at the Y in the road. Do NOT follow the Venango Park signs!! Follow the State Park signs to Rocking K Campground. Ride signs will be posted at every corner for your convenience (we know how y'all are...lol). The self pay station is on the right just inside the entrance of the State Park.
